Abstract

In the process of blade manufacturing, there exist the influences of manufacturing precision, material defects, assembling errors and other non-design factors, which cause the actual barycenter of modular marine propeller is inconsistent with the theoretical barycenter. Hence, it is necessary to correct the errors of barycenter position of blade by weight removing so as to satisfy the actual requirements and engineering applications. For the optimization of weight removing, it proposes the concept of minimum error containing ball based on the theory of minimum enclosing ball, and establishes the barycenter relationships in multi-blades to describe the error range of the barycenter for modular marine propeller. It also proposes the algorithm of removal processing ball for weight removing in order to judge whether the blade needs to handle or not. To verify the theories of minimum containing ball and removal processing ball about the barycenter, the parametric model of relevant blade is established. After applying sobol algorithm and TSearch algorithm to optimize the model, the weight removing area can be determined and the removing parameters which meet the conditions can be also obtained. The results indicate that to apply the enclosing ball theory to the optimization of weight removing can correct the barycenter errors and satisfy the requirements of dynamic balancing performance.
